Another excellent book by Sigmund Hering. In a most practical manner Sigmund Hering introduces the trumpet player to ornamentation. The studes are progressive starting with simple grace notes to more complex types or ornamentation.

Arban's method is often called the trumpet "Bible." This book is a must for any trumpet player who is past the beginner stage.

Every serious trumpet player should try to master this book. Herbert L. Clarke was John Phillip Sousa's most popular soloist and one of America's first "super star" artists.

Theodore Charlier's "36 Transcendental Etudes for Trumpet" has to be one of the greatest etude books ever written for the trumpet. Henri Tomasi has written a number of wonderful and virtuosic concert works for the trumpet. His etude book is a good introduction to the performance styles of modern French music. This set of studies is recommended for advanced players.

Find a Trumpet Teacher If You Can Local resources are usually best for finding a competent teacher. Try your local music store, public school, local college music department, musician's union, or ask friends and neighbors.

John Kinyon's Breez-Easy Method for Trumpet is an excellent music book for the beginning trumpet student.

| The "Belwin Band Builder" book has been around for many years. A very good music book for the beginner, it can also be used along with some of the other beginner books. |
|

| Walter Beeler's method has been around for many years. It works well for the advancing to intermediate student. |
|
|
|
Kinyon and O'Reilly have put together a nice duet book for trumpet students in the beginner stage. The 20 duets in here will go a long way in keeping a students interest and attention. Very useful as a teaching tool. |

Edited by Armando Ghitalla this is the first printed edition of the Hummel concerto. Ghitalla was not only the first person to bring this important concerto to print he was also the first trumpet soloist to perform and record it. Check in our record bin for that recording. |

Scholar and trumpet soloist Edward Tarr has given us an Urtext edition of Hummel's trumpet concerto in E. This edition includes both of the second movements that Hummel wrote! Yes, that's correct, Hummel wrote two second movments. This edition is not recommended for Bb trumpet as it will put the trumpet in the key of F#.
